California plant responses to climate change

Before I started my PhD at UC Davis, I worked as a research assistant in Dr. Johanna Schmitt's lab studying

Native bee habitat restoration

As a research technician in Dr. Rachael Winfree's lab at Rutgers University, I conducted field work determining the effectiveness of pollinator habitat restoration strategies on native bees in New Jersey.

Marine community ecology

I did my undergraduate honors thesis in Dr. Mark Bertness' Lab at Brown University studying predator-prey interactions in salt marshes and rocky intertidal systems. When our research found that recreational overfishing indirectly contributed to salt marsh die off, I sent a policy brief about our findings to my then-representative US Senator Whitehouse (RI) urging policymakers to allocate funding supporting restoration and further research.
